Son follows a seemingly wholesome mother & son duo, Laura (Andi Matichak) and David (Luke David Blumm) are awakened one night by intruders inside their home. When Laura phones the police, Paul (Emile Hirsch) and Steve (Cranston Johnson) arrive just as David's health starts rapidly declining and he is rushed to the local hospital. Believing his best hopes for survival lay outside hospital grounds, Laura (Andi Matichak) takes David (Luke David Blumm) and they flee by car, heading to the home of her childhood friend Jimmy Naegle (Blaine Maye). Laura's instincts tell her David's illness is linked to something from her past, something she cannot quite remember, so she seeks out Jimmy, hoping for some answers. Jimmy paints a terrifying portrait of their abusive childhood and Laura soon realizes the cult that may be after David - the ones responsible for making him ill - are far more evil than she could have ever imagined.
